In recognition of June’s “Men’s Health Month”, we wanted to share this infographic from the Canadian Men’s Health Foundation. It’s an easy-to-read overview of the greatest health challenges men face, and it offers some practical advice for making lifestyle changes in each of those areas.
TeleVox’s Healthy World report A Fragile Nation in Poor Health gave us a lot of insight about men’s perceptions of their own health. 52% of men report being in good health, while only 4% rate their health as “poor”.
Good health or poor health – men also indicated the need for more instruction and communication from their providers to keep them on track in their ongoing wellness. 46% of men feel they could better follow their physicians’ prescribed treatment plans if they received encouragement between visits. 35% of men say they would follow instructions better if they received reminders from their doctors telling them to do something specific, like take medication or go to the gym.
Are you communicating simple lifestyle changes like those in this infographic to your male patients?
